Why do calisthenics athletes have skinny legs? Why does anyone have skinny legs? Do you skip leg day? If you’re a calisthenics athlete, you’ve been accused of skipping leg day at least 28 times. Calisthenics athletes are criticized for focusing on mainly upper body exercises and neglecting LEGS! Is there any truth to these claims? Are calisthenics athletes more likely to skip leg day resulting in tiny paper thin skinny legs; than other fitness groups? Eh who cares!?! No matter if you do calf exercises or a calf workout your legs don’t grow so you just gave up your leg workout. Is that it? You want chicken legs when you walk on the beach during the summer?

The truth is skinny legs matched with a large upper body isn’t really the best look. Not only aesthetics wise but also in the pursuit of hypertrophy, working legs are important. Naturally some are blessed with massive legs having to only work them once in a lifetime and others are naturally cursed with tiny, paper thin, skinny legs. I fall somewhere in between.
