Tenuta Luce, Luce, Montalcino, Italy 2019, $130 

First stop on our tour of the world’s finest organic wines, we have Tenuta Luce. Founded by Robert Mondavi and the Frescobaldi family, Tenuta Luce’s collectible 2019 vintage earned a 99-point score and is a best-in-class Brunello di Montalcino.

This deliciously balanced late vintage has floral notes of violet, rose, and red fruit. While a lovely mouthfeel from well-integrated tannins creates a creamy-like silky texture. 

Champagne by Monial, Champagne, France, Non-vintage, $120

This organic wine collecting journey wouldn’t be complete without a trip to France. A fresh new wine concept by founder and master chef Duyen Ha, BONDLE imports premium French magnum format wines. This effervescent Pinot Noir and Chardonnay blend led by female winemaker Marina Chevalier boasts a fine perlage, delicate texture, and creamy mousse.

Voluptuous in the glass, it’s crisp and toasty and dare we say, vintage? The grapes are harvested from a 16th century vineyard and aged in a historic 12th century underground cellar. Delight your guests with a history lesson that will actually interest them (probably) while sipping on this exquisite bubbly.

Viña Seña, Bordeaux-Style Red Blend , Aconcagua Valley, Chile, 2020, $150 

Hailing from Chile, Seña was created in 1995 as a joint venture between Eduardo Chadwick and Robert Mondavi. Both shared the dream to make a fine wine showcasing a high quality Bordeaux-style blend made from Chile’s Carmenere grapes – and aren’t we glad they did.

Farmed biodynamically in the Aconcagua Valley, this warm vintage features round tannins with a fine acidity and fresh aromas. Balanced and exuberant, this wine is a collectible. 

Il Molino di Grace Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Il Margone, Chianti Classico, Italy, 2015, $40 

This multiple award-winning wine from the Panzano UGA in Chianti Classico earned 95 points from James Suckling and a 94 from Wine Spectator. Even if there were nothing else to recommend this ruby jewel, those scores alone would make this wine an incredible value at $40.

From its cool microclimate and rocky Galestro soil, this authentic expression of Sangiovese grapes originally was harvested by monks. Today a soft extraction process and frequent punch-downs produce a full-bodied wine with tart notes of cherry and earthy spice.

Champagne Lanson, Le Green Label, 2017 $75

This biodynamic beauty is an elegant fresh balance of fruitiness and minerality that sings out of the glass. Expressing the pure terroir of its Marne Valley vineyard in the village of Verneuil, Lanson has one of the largest biodynamic vineyards in Champagne and is one of the few Champagne Houses with a permanent organic label. Consider us très impressed. 

Villa Soleilla, Gerard Bertrand, 2020 $190

As the name Villa Soleilla suggests, this newly released iconic biodynamic orange wine warms your soul like golden rays of sunshine. Rich in sensation and emotion, this organic wine was born from hand-harvested Roussanne, Vermentino, and Viognier grapes from the L’Hospitalet estate.

Maturing in clay and glass amphoras, the nose is complex with notes of garrigue, thyme, caramel, and honey while the palate picks up apricot and floral aromas. Achieving a harmonious structural balance and deep orange hue it’s ready for immediate enjoyment. Or for orange wine connoisseurs, age it in your cellar.

Quintessa Winery, Rutherford, Napa Valley, 2019, $230

Next up we have our first American vintner hailing from the luscious rolling hills of Napa Valley.

For over thirty years Quintessa Winery has devoted itself to intentional organic and biodynamic farming – preserving 100 acres of woodland ensuring the true expression of its terroir. Earning 100 points from Wine Enthusiast, winemaker Rebekah Wineburg blends the results of the varied soils and microclimates to the perfect intersection and reflection of this vintage with notes of flower, forest, and fruit. While a vibrant acidity creates an elegant and harmonious wine. 

An exquisite collectible, enjoy its younger notes now or age for up to 20 years.

Querciabella, Batàr, Toscana IGT, 2019, $95 

This collectible white has enjoyed quite a cult following over the decades –we say it’s time for you to join the club.

A pioneer in the biodynamic movement since 1974, Batàr’s grapes are hand-harvested from Galestro soils near Greve in Chianti. The sandstone gives the Chardonnay grapes a remarkable minerality and tangible zing.

One of the few white wines that ages beautifully over time, indulge in its incredible mouthfeel, tension, and vibrant minerality mature in the bottle and finally in your glass. 

Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore, Trentodoc, Italy 2009, $180

The Italian Dolomites are home to Italy’s mountainous viticulture where these hand-harvested Chardonnay grapes were crafted in the metodo classico tradition to rival the best French Champagnes. Elegant and complex, its delicate nose invites scents of honey and vanilla. While the velvety body and palate reveals savoring notes of acacia blossoms with a lovely finish that lasts.
