Movies Directed By Women 2018

Last year was groundbreaking in many ways, especially when it comes to women in film. Patty Jenkins soared with her astonishing release of Wonder Woman and signed on for the sequel. Greta Gerwig became the fifth woman to receive a best director Oscar nod, thanks to her heartwarming coming-of-age masterpiece, Lady Bird. And Rachel Morrison became the first female cinematographer to be nominated for an Oscar in history. As we push on in 2018, there are a handful of new, exciting projects with women at the helm. Naturally, we wish there were more female-directed films in 2018, but we’ll keep hoping that Hollywood wakes up and gives these talented auteurs a shot. Source link [page_popup id=”1″]

People Are Dragging A Fox News Anchor Who Told LeBron James To “Shut Up And Dribble”

“The number one job in America, the point of person, is someone who doesn’t understand the people, and really don’t give a fuck about the people,” Lebron said in the clip talking about the president. “But wait, there’s more gripping insight,” Ingraham added before launching into the clip once more. James, Durant, and Champion then began to address their feelings on racist comments the president has made in the past. “I feel like our team, as country, is not ran by a great coach,” Durant said. “It’s not even a surprise when he says something. It’s, like, laughable, and it’s scary,” James added. “I shouldn’t be numb to your racist comments,” Champion said, agreeing with the NBA players. “I shouldn’t be numb to your behavior.” “Unfortunately, a lot of kids and some adults take these ignorant comments seriously,” Ingraham continued. “Look, there might be a cautionary lesson in LeBron for kids,” the anchor continued. “This is what happens when you attempt to leave high school a year early to join the NBA, and it’s always unwise to seek political advice from someone who gets paid $100 million a year to bounce a ball.” Source link [page_popup id=”1″]

Metallica to Receive Music’s ‘Nobel Prize’

Nearly 40 years into their career, Metallica will receive the Polar Music Prize – an equivalent award to the Nobel Prize – this coming spring. The award recognizes international excellence in music. The group will receive an award of one million Swedish kronor, roughly equivalent to $126,000. The band will donate the money to its own All Within My Hands organization, which aids communities in need with workforce education, food-bank donations and other local services. “Not since Wagner’s emotional turmoil and Tchaikovsky’s cannons has anyone created music that is so physical and furious, and yet still so accessible,” reads the statement on the Polar Music Prize’s website. “Through virtuoso ensemble playing and its use of extremely accelerated tempos, Metallica has taken rock music to places it had never been before. In Metallica’s world, both a teenage bedroom and a concert hall can be transformed into a Valhalla. The strength of the band’s uncompromising albums has helped millions of listeners to transform their sense of alienation into a superpower.” “It puts us in very distinguished company,” Lars Ulrich said, according to the BBC. “It’s a great validation of everything that Metallica has done over the last 35 years. At the same time, we feel like we’re in our prime with a lot of good years ahead of us.” “As myself and as Metallica I’m grateful to have this as part of our legacy, our history,” James Hetfield said. Metallica formed in Los Angeles in 1981 and helped galvanize thrash metal as a genre. Their fifth LP, The Black Album, sold more than 16 million copies and is the best-selling record of the past quarter century. That album, along with four others, were featured prominently on Rolling Stone’s list of the Greatest Metal Albums of All Time. Their 1986 album, Master of Puppets, ranked Number Two on the list, behind only Black Sabbath’s Paranoid. Past Polar Music Prize recipients include Paul McCartney, Paul Simon, Patti Smith, Björk, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John and Quincy Jones. It was founded in 1989 by former Abba manager Stig Anderson; its name comes form Anderson’s Polar Music label. Source link [page_popup id=”1″]

Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder Crossover Date

Do you have your popcorn and wine ready? Good, because the Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder crossover episodes are coming sooner than you think. On Thursday, two new trailers for the special event were released showing the exact moment Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) and Annalise Keating (Viola Davis)’s worlds collide for the first time, and let’s just say, it’s f*cking explosive. “So you’re saying I’m a hot mess?” Keating asks Pope in the clip. “This is my town. My game. My rules.” Pope retorts. You guys . . . I am shooketh! The crossover, which is set to air Thursday, March 1, will kick off with an episode of Scandal titled “Allow Me To Reintroduce Myself.” The storyline will revolve around Pope facilitating Annalise’s goal of fast tracking a judicial reform class action to the United States Supreme Court. Then — because Shonda Rhimes is not done playing tag team with our wigs — How to Get Away With Murder will follow up with an episode titled “Lahey v Commonwealth of Pennsylvania” detailing the events that lead up to Keating finally getting to argue her case in the nation’s highest court. Our teacups overflow with the juiciness of it all. Watch the second trailer ahead, then remember to set your DVRs so you don’t miss what Davis describes as “black girl magic on steroids” once it premieres on ABC next month. 26 Times The "Friends" Characters Had No Clue How To Live In An Apartment

WORST. NEIGHBORS. EVER. The Friends characters RENOVATE their apartments even though they don’t own them. Who does that?? NBC They move out without telling their roommates, and they don’t bother to find a replacement. NBC They break their lease by swapping apartments whenever they want. NBC They pretend that dead people still live in their apartments, to take advantage of rent control laws. NBC They start a lot of fires. NBC Like, a lot of fires. NBC I mean seriously, who starts this many fires??? NBC They report fake gas leaks and get doors smashed down, just because they don’t have a key. NBC They keep exotic animals in their apartments, which is super illegal. NBC …not to mention, kind of dangerous??? NBC Sometimes their animals break loose from their apartments, and just roam around the building. NBC The friends spy on their neighbors ALL. THE. TIME. NBC They make up nasty nicknames for them. NBC …and harass them with giant poking devices. NBC They have sex without shutting the blinds, but then complain about other neighbors being naked. NBC The friends are LOUD. NBC So loud, it literally killed a man. NBC They do noisy construction projects throughout the day. NBC Suffice it to say, they’re never getting their security deposits back. NBC They get stupidly fancy apartments as soon as they score a big paycheck. NBC …and then break the lease when they realize they can’t actually afford them. NBC They’re constantly having loud personal conversations in the hallway. NBC And they make huge messes there, too. NBC In fact, they leave messes in a lot of common spaces. NBC Instead of applying to apartments like normal, well-adjusted adults, they try to bribe the person by getting naked. NBC And finally, they create absolute chaos when they’re moving in. NBC Will somebody teach these folks how to live in an apartment, please??? Whatever, still love 'em. NBC Source link [page_popup id=”1″]

Best Spice Girls Songs | POPSUGAR Entertainment

Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell, and Victoria Beckham sent the world into a tizzy when Posh Spice posted a photo of the former girl group together on Feb. 2. Then came the news we had hoped to hear: the Spice Girls are going on a reunion tour in the US and UK, so it was a no brainer for us to celebrate by playing some of their greatest hits. We can’t stop thinking about what songs they will perform — the possibilities are endless since there are three albums’ worth of material to chose from. Of course, we are almost 100 percent sure we will hear “Wannabe” and “Spice Up Your Life,” since those are two of their biggest hits, but what about “Say You’ll Be There” or “Viva Forever”? We are selfishly hoping they play all of the songs off of their greatest hits album. Now that we’ve officially caught Spice Girls fever and want you to, too, take some time to enjoy the Spotify playlist we’ve created and join us on a stroll down memory lane.
