How to improve your turn out / femur external rotation
Matt and Josh show you two ways to improve your ability to externally rotate your femurs for motions that are similar to a ballet turnout. This can be helpful for activities like ice skating, soccer, and even weight lifting (Note: do not squat with full turn out unless you are exceptionally gifted/mobile).
One method to get better external rotation is to activate the muscles that externally rotate using the exercises we show in the video. Stretching and tissue work may be helpful as well. You can do these for 2-3 sets of 5-10.
