In this video, Trevor Theismann of Kbands Training takes viewers through a two-part series of dynamic warm-up moves for track and field athletes. These sprinter workouts can loosen and warm the muscles, increasing oxygen delivery and blood flow. And they can also build strength in areas most vital to sprinters, like the hip flexors and core.

Athletes can attach the Kbands to the upper legs and then move through the first set of skipping motions, which concentrate on height, arm motion, and knee drive. For a length of about ten meters, runners should focus on raising the knee against the resistance of the bands and keeping the arms engaged. During the second sequence, runners will concentrate on the downward drive of the leg and the pawing motion that will accelerate the body forward. Both drills can be completed in six to eight resisted sets, followed by two to four sets with the bands removed.

For more sprinter workouts like these and more information about the benefits of the Kbands resistance training equipment, including the Kbands, KB Powerbands and KB Duo, athletes and coaches can visit the track and field section of KbandsTraining.com
